&lt;p&gt;To the villagers of Yasothon firing ginormous rockets into the sky is apparently the best way to lure the rain gods, and things can get very noisy and rather hectic at Phaya Thaen Park when the Yasothon Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival takes place.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;660 000 estimated malaria deaths globally&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;91% of deaths are in Africa&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;86% of deaths are in children under 5 years of age&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;80% of estimated malaria deaths occur in just 14 countries&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Malaria Cases&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;219 million malaria cases worldwide&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;80% of estimated cases occur in 17 countries&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Nigeria account for 40% of estimated malaria cases&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Population at Risk&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;3.3 billion (half of the world’s population)&lt;/li&gt;
