660 000 estimated malaria deaths globally
91% of deaths are in Africa
86% of deaths are in children under 5 years of age
80% of estimated malaria deaths occur in just 14 countries

Malaria Cases

219 million malaria cases worldwide
80% of estimated cases occur in 17 countries
The Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Nigeria account for 40% of estimated malaria cases
