Beyond our economy and security, though, is our work to help build a better, safer world, which is in keeping with our long history. America has always stood for freedom, and we have a proud tradition of helping others to achieve their own goals of freedom.
Whether it’s providing lifesaving HIV/AIDS medications for a mother in Kenya so she can care for her children, building schools in Afghanistan or helping ensure free and fair elections in Tunisia and other countries experiencing an ‘Arab Spring,’ our foreign assistance demonstrates American values.
